Direct On Scene Education (DOSE) Training

The Shelby County Health Department’s Community Health Bureau - FIMR program will be hosting a DOSE training session on Wednesday, September 7th from 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm.

Direct On Scene Observation, or DOSE,  is a best practice program that provides education on the prevention of infant sleep-related deaths.

Participants will be trained by Captain James Carroll of the Fort Lauderdale Fire Department, who created this program. 

Attendees will be instructed on how to identify infant safe sleep hazards. Tentative topics to be covered will include: selected data on sleep-related infant deaths; overview of infant mortality in Memphis-Shelby County; factors that increase risk of sleep-related infant death; safe infant sleep environment; role for first responders/home visitors/health educators; overview of the DOSE program.
